Award Winning Traditional Country Pub

When we arrived we weren’t disappointed. Inside was beautifully set out and such an “oldie worldly” country pub. We requested to be outside as it was so hot.
We weer greeted by a lovely cheerful lady who made us most welcome .
We all had starters and mains. I had the squid, hubby had the scallops which were all cooked to perfection and presented beautifully. We then had mains. I had the slow cooked ribs which just melted in my mouth and the bbq sauce was to die for! The salad and coleslaw and chips were wonderful.
Hubby had a home made steak and kidney pie with veg and gravy. He said how lovely it was. All our food was bought out at the same time which is not easy when there’s 7 of you! All beautifully presented and all wonderfully cooked.
We had a wonderful evening and although this was our first trip it won’t be our last! Can’t wait to try more of the home cooked food and the cosy feel of the log burners in the winter months too. I would recommend this place to anyone thank you for making our evening special.

Food is always excellent and they are constantly tweaking the menu to ensure there’s something for everyone. Wherever possible local produce is used.
I had a burger and chips but it’s so much more than that - a true experience.
It’s always busy, and there’s a reason for that - it is excellent!
Make sure you book in advance - if you’re lucky enough to get a table!
